Link Love

I really haven't had the time lately to play with the format of this blog and update my links on the right sidebar, but I did want to let you know about a few posts lately that I have loved.

Wanna share the link love ya'll...

Sarah Conley of Style IT was a guest writer on Coutorture this week, and wrote an amazing post reviewing the Old Navy Plus-Sized holiday line. Best part about it? She didn't give genericized feedback, she tried on the clothes AND photographed herself in the pieces. Oh, and she has a fabulous body and the perfect hats to make each outfit. I love her honesty, her sassy style, and of course the reference to my blog at the bottom of the article! Thanks Sarah! Mwah!

Bethany at ...That's not great. has one of the most comprehensive reviews of a large portion of the Philosophy line I have seen. Well written, honest and it made ME want to run to Sephora for some of their goodies! Bethany said she'll be having a post about skincare tomorrow so be sure to visit her again!

Susie Bubble at Style Bubble informed me that they are doing an HBO movie of Grey Gardens! I had no clue and am totally psyched. For those who have not seen this documentary, you MUST put it on your Netflix queue! I am looking forward to the costumes, and I don't mind seeing me some Drew Barrymore either (or Jessica Lange for that matter!).

So I have been a vegetarian for about a year. Yes, I have fallen off the wagon a few times (if Buffalo wings and crab dip didn't exist, I would be golden) but I feel better, my skin is better, my weight is a bit more under control and I feel good in my soul about this personal decision. I am considering taking the next step and slowly remove or cut down the amount of dairy and eggs I consume and be more conscious in my purchase for my wardrobe and home. Leah of Style for the SAHM fame is a vegan and is trying to be vegan in all aspects of her life. She is tres chic in her style, and to help those of us who also want to be more thoughtful with their purchases, she has the blog, The Elegant Vegan. It IS possible to be vegan AND stylish!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend - we are possibly going to get a "wintry mix" this weekend in the Washington DC Metropolitan Region. I hope to hit the malls one final time tomorrow with my sister and spend the rest of the weekend holed up in my house wrapping presents, cleaning and making vegetable stock from my collection of veggie remnants I have been storing in my freezer. I have freezer bags in there, and when I get to the bottom of a carrot or stalk of celery, have a random piece of onion or another vegetable, instead of tossing int he trash I have stuck them in the bags. Last year I did this with chicken carcasses and ended up with six quarts of stock for months of recipes. Makes me feel like Martha with hardly any work or cost to do it!
